Razer Invades Latin America (today Brazil, tomorrow the world mwa-ha-ha-ha) |

The buzz around the Razer booth was extraordinary. The Brazilian gamers could not believe they were seeing the Mantis speed and control so soon after the U.S. launch. They were very excited to finally see and purchase the Copperhead (many purchased and then went immediately to the contest area).
Sout, one of the top CS source teams in Brazil used the Mantis in the semi’s and finals of the CS-Source tournament, ultimately finishing 2nd. Every morning as the show opened, Thousands waited in line patiently to enter the show. Most made a beeline to the Razer booth to hop on one of the multiple gaming stations and to try their hand at quake 4 using the new Copperhead / Mantis combination.

I’m not sure what the fans were more impressed with. The Quake 4 graphics or just how smooth and precise the new copperhead is.
People were impressed with our booth, not because of booth beauty but because of new products, new technologies, the first brand appearance in Brazil, etc…
Razer was the highlight of the show, like a new girl when goes to party and steals all the attention. We could hear people saying:
“Man look, Razer is here…!!!!! “ or
“Finally we can buy Razer in Brazil …!” or
“Man, look at that mouse, I wish I could buy one…” or
“How can you launch the new Mantis in Brazil if we can’t find anywhere in USA?”

Everybody was impressed with the Copperhead features. When we were explaining the features we could see the smile on their faces and almost hear his thoughts as: “oh shit, this is THE MOUSE, this is a dream”
Competitive Gaming for the country and Razer is a huge opportunity. Nearly every team came to us asking for sponsorship. Copperhead has been sent to editors of review websites and magazines. Other major brands came to us asking for a partnership in Brazil and all kinds of gaming associations are still contacting me for future partnership in tournaments.

The Razer fans took tattooing to a whole new level. Every inch of visible skin covered with our Razer 3-headed snake. We haven’t seen anything like this since GC in Leipzig … guys were placing tattoos on their ass and showing them in public!!! How can someone have his face full of tattoos just to get a dog tag or a beanie? Crazy but also impressed.
There was a funny situation in the sales booth, a little boy came to me and said: “look, my grandma gave me R$ 280 to come here, I want to buy a Diamondback, I need money to eat and money to take a bus back to my city (we were selling the diamond back for R$ 279). Can you make the Diamondback for R$ 259? So I can spend R$ 10 in a lunch and R$ 10 in a bus to go back home…” Of course I said YES!! He was only 14 years old and this situation was very strange but comfortable to me, this proves that the product is now accepted and that we can build a nice business in Brazil.
Many thanks to Cameron Taylor, Joe and Vitor Martins for making this all possible and for their report and images.

Hi Robert,
seemed to be some great days over in Brazil for Razer,
I really like the photos and the booth too.
I have to agree with you that the Brazilian fans are going nuts on high quality products for Gaming and generally the ones that Razer offers and that an exhibition like the one Razer attended is something really really special for them. Besides the life circumstances for most of the people in Brazil it’s great to see Razer shows a heart to even the youngest fans over there. The Costumers of tomorrow will remind that. I bet it was a great experience seeing all those guys playing at the game stations with the newest Gamer Hardware and the latest Gaming Highlight Q4, since I know from my experience with the Brazilian eSport players most of them can’t afford a Machine to play Q4 in High Quality. Razerguy(s) and girls keep on the good work.
Cheers,
Bjoern

So I’m dying to get my hands on the Razer Krait for x-mas. It was supposed to come out in december in the press-release but still no sign of it here or in stores. When can I expect it here in Sweden?

Hi Razerguy,
I got my normal exactmat today, but after reading the latest blogs, I was wondering if I should give it back and wait for the laser version? When is it coming? Also, you said that the Pro-tools would be available in November but I think they are delayed as well…So when are they coming? And what about the Tarantula? I read that it will be shipping in December? Is that right?
kind regards,
Gamma

addition: I want to use it with my (new) Copperhead and I live in Germany.

Hi Razerguy,
I also am wondering whether i should give my mantis mousepad back and wait for the lazer exactmat, as the mantis seems to give strange tracking problems when it is used with my copperhead, e.g the crosshair suddenly jumping up or down.
December 13th, 2005 at 12:55 pm
yeah im waiting 4 pro toolz too and im living in germany too. so november has passed. when will they be aviable?

Hi,
I cannot understand why you stopped working for the copperhead. You should finish your work before starting new things (even better would be to finish your products before selling them!). It is long time ago as the latest firmware got out… and believe me: the copperhead is far from beeing finished. Just read the razerblueprints (I think it is very important, because you will find out what people dont like about products and what could be made better… and also you could read that everybody is waiting for a better firmware without negative acceleration and better tracking etc).
Also what you should know is that Logitech, which you told us of not beeing able to update firmware, did it. and they have a perfect mouse. you could have a perfect mouse before they had… but suddenly you stopped working and let the copperhead unfinished but started work for the piranha, krait etc. You should bear in mind that nobody will be motivated to buy your new products if the last ones, they bought were unfinished products for which they paid a lot of money because they thought it would be perfect.
I am sorry for the next words but i want to be as honest as possible even if i am getting somehow rude (but i want to tell the things how they are, so pls dont take it that worse). If i would loose my copperhead i wouldn’t think just one second of what i should buy… i would definetly buy the g5 if no better firmware would appear until then. And the next time before buying any Razer product i would wait some months until everybody in the forums (like razerblueprints.net) says it is perfect.
The next thing are the razer pro-tools: they should be out in november… and we still dont know anything specific about it nor pictures or any information.
I hope my words are not too hard and I apologize for my negative feedback… but the longer i have to wait for a finished copperhead, the more negative my thoughts are getting about Razer (just think as a customer which waits for a finished product which should be normally finished before he bought it, and then you’ll know what i mean, because the customer gets angry the longer he’ll has to wait, because the product he bought could be useless for him without beeing finished. so it is a useless investigation for something unfinished he didnt pay for… he wanted to pay for a finished, perfect product which wasn’t that cheap. but he paid this high amount of money because he thought he’ll get something FINISHED and PERFECT). Dont get me wrong the products you make WOULD BE perfect… BUT you don’t FINISH them.
Greetings from Austria

Hi again,
I think I should excuse myself for beeing that rude and thank the team instead for the great new beta firmware which is a great improvement. I think i am happy now, that the copperhead users haven’t been forgotten.

I LIKE MY COPPERHEAD ;))))))))))))))))))))))))) buy this mouse
January 9th, 2006 at 4:44 pm
I have seen the “new” Tarantula presented at CES, i think it is beatiful! The version with OLED display will cost 300S ?!??! For a keyboard is too high! What about Razer PRO Tools for Copperhead, where’s the Piranha Headset?
Ciao.
P.S. I like so much my Diamondback Plasma LE, It’s Perfect!
January 9th, 2006 at 6:55 pm
ProTools will be released in a matter of weeks and as I have said before, this product is designed for advanced users only.
Piranha headset is still coming and more news will be posted in a few weeks.
January 10th, 2006 at 11:44 am
Well, the OLED Tarantula ist still too expensive, although there will be a normal version. Look at Logitechs G15, it has a Display, but only costs about $60-$80.
January 10th, 2006 at 9:09 pm
Dude there is no way you can belive Razerguy. He told us the Lasermouse pad would be out a couple of weeks after the copperhead. Try a couple of months for the ProTools.
January 12th, 2006 at 3:07 pm
MONVMENTVM,
I agree with everything you said. I’ve been burned far too many times by buying a new technology only to see it crash and burn when I plug it in. That’s why I’m waiting to buy a copperhead. I want to make sure they’ve fleshed out ALL the bugs. That, and my wife won’t let me spend that much on a new mouse
But on the other hand, I do work for a large computer conglomerate, and there is a certain percentage of computers that are lemons. That cannot be completely avoided no matter how much testing they do. From the testimonials I’ve seen so far, I’ve seen one negative testimonial out of 10. And Those were in the tech support forums… there’s always going to be a percentage of new tech hardware that doesn’t work, but that doesn’t mean the hardware is faulty at large. I am pretty convinced razer has removed all major bugs from the CH, so when I get mine, I’ll no doubt be very shocked if it doesn’t work.
January 13th, 2006 at 6:30 pm
HI Razerguy I love your poducts, they are simply the best… but you should think of making a REALLY GOOD keyboard with led lit numbers, rubber plated keys, lcds, etc etc… THAT WHOULD BE AWSOME!!!!
January 16th, 2006 at 12:32 pm
hey! why not have some wallpapers of the Razer Mantis? its cool to have them on my desktop if u guys can provide us fans with these. looking forward and fast to it.
January 18th, 2006 at 2:33 am
Man, I bought your Razer Copperhead. I play CSS and it was a huge improvement from my Basic Optical mouse and Microsoft Intellimouse that I used. The precision and speed is unmatched. GJ Razer. I’m going to only use Razer mouses from now on.
