C´mon Razer guys, i bought me this sweet mouse from you called Deathadder, by far the best Razer mouse to date. But i cant use it, you guys still havent produced any Vista Drivers!!? Its already out there, people are using this new good looking OS. Please give us the opportunity to use youre great hardware on it!!? Everyone else “almost” have released vista drivers, you guys are one of few without any, atleast release some beta version, so i can adjust these crazy DPI´s on this thing!!? Pleaaasssee!!
Same problem for me. How can you not have any Vista drivers yet?? It’s not really a big supprise that MS was going to release Vista. Very bad planning from you guys. You want people to buy your stuff, but it doesn’t seem like you give a shit if it works or not. If you don’t even have any beta drivers, you are really far behind. For me, only one solution, though you shit product in the wall, and buy a new product that actually works on my system. thanks for nothing.
same problem i have razer keyboard mouse soundcard but no drivers i no they take time but there is not even a mention about vista on the razer site great stuff but come on with the lack of information
Again a company on the hardwarefront that does not think on their hard paying customers, the hw of razer is not the cheapest. After Creative (soudblaster) Razer also does not have working software to run under Vista.
i bought from the begining Razer products that start with the boomslang 2000. But for now i am very disapointed. if you worked with M$ then i.m.o. you can work easy to build new drivers and be ahaead of the competittors. That would Razer strong.
i’m serious thinking to stop all acivities on Razer products.
Okay. I’ve had it enough with checking the site for vista driver EVERY DAY. I just threw it on the wall and shattered. I feel so much better. I’ll move onto Logitech. At least, they don’t treat customers like idiots and belittle.
Feb, 11 2007 and unless i am missing somthing there are still no vista drivers for the copperhead mouse.. Been using razor products since i bought my first boomslang several years ago. Never been disappointed. Still not disappointed the mouse works with vista HID compliant driver, but has no functions except standard moust functions.
Razer diamondback driver doesn’t seem to work in Vista 32bit… it has a vista folder but extra buttons do not work when loaded and tray does nothing when changing settings.
Just an update for you guys. Any idea on an eta.. i miss my razer driver but i have to run vista at home for training for work.
I also have razer soundcard AC 1, razer DarthVader, Razer phones, etc etc and i don’t see any kind of support to it for vista!!!!
I have aquired this fantastic new OS, thinking that i would have everything working on it! What was my surprise when i receive razer soundcard and checked that it doesn’t work on vista! Not even a generic driver is detected, nothing at all!! Completely useless for vista
Come on Razer, i don’t complain about the mouse or keyboard, because that at least works, but your soundcard… nothing at all, zero!
Please give some kind of support or feedback with dates for us. Thnks.
This is not a Microsoft product, but a Razer one… so it’s not Microsoft responsability to get us the drivers even if i’m using a microsft based OS
Razer come on… you are taking to many time!! I’m almost thinking of giving up your products with big regret, but it’s true
It’s unpleasant to have such a nice hardware and don’t have the chance to use it in our computers…
Was looking at buying a new soundcard and of cousre My first thought is to get the Barracuda AC-1. This card has great reviews and works well…if you don’t run Vista. Well great I run vista and my old soundcard doesn’t have any driver support either. No suprise there, its my backup card that is like 5 years old. Porbably will never have driver support. But the Barracuda Is a brand new soundcard and should have drivers. Where the hell are they? I will be buying a new soundcard and maybe a headset this week, but if there aren’t any vista drivers then I will have to go with someone else. At least let us loyal customers in on a possible release date for these drivers.
Also still looking for Vista drivers for my copperhead. Any word on these?
I am building a new system and bought the Barracuda AC-1 and headset to go into it. I will be running 64 bit Vista Ultimate. Now that I see there are no drivers and apparently no eta for drivers I better return it. From the hype I expected the perfect gaming audio, too bad Razer doesn’t support their product.
I’m already a proud owner of the Razer Barracuda HP-1 and Copperhead, and was looking into purchasing the AC-1 to go with a brand new $3,300 computer set-up I just ordered. I’m sad to see that the Vista drivers are not yet available for Razer products, and am concerned as to when they will be made available. I hope this issue clears up soon.
I have been checking for a month now still not vista Drivers.. I am buying another souncard and heacset on Payday.. a shame I loveed my AC1 but this is unforgivable.. You should had hired some more developers or started on drivers sooner.. gamers need sound and my onboard sucks.. so I am going otu and gettting a new card and tossing your stuff.. sorry you lost a customer.. I have broadcasted to my guild on Vangaurd that you all suck for Vista so dont invest in them.. so dont look to any investment from my folks… later.. this was a burnt message…
Vista 32 drivers are starting to appear for downloads. Today the Razer Diamondback Driver v6.01 was released. Copperhead and DeathAdder Vista drivers are coming soon, followed by Tarantula keyboard and Barracuda AC-1 audiocard.
I purchased the AC1 barracuda a week ago, and purchased Vista yesterday! After reading this blog, it seems one will have to go back… and it wont be Vista.
It’s rediculous that these drivers were not created prior to the realease of Vista, because just about every other manufacturer was prepared for Vista’s release. I can hold onto the card for a week or two, but I only have 30 days since day of purchase to get my FULL REFUND. If I dont see a driver for the AC1 in two weeks, I will swap this card for an albeit lesser quality card, but if it works with Vista, then its already a better card.
From what I’ve been reading, it seems to be Razor’s first real blunder, but its quite the blunder.
Bestbuy in Wisconsin has a sign up by the keyboards and mice saying that Razer mice do not work with Vista.
Wow, that’s gotta put a dent in sales…they are recommending Logitech for gamers.
I guess they have drivers out for all of there mice.
What I don’t understand is Razer says nothing about having drivers complete for all their mice, no time frame or nothing….must be a small company.
WHEN!
I love Razer products, in fact I am typing this on my Tarantula. I also have the Barracuda soundcard and headphones and the copperhead.
I also have sitting in my desk drawer a copy of vista, which I am waiting to install just because of a lack of drivers.
I hope it is soon, otherwise I am digging out my G5 and my Merc board and using onboard sound, these ALL have drivers.
I asked about this back when vista was in beta, and now it has officially released. Lets get out those drivers. I am a person who is loyal to one company as much as possible but am feeling let down right now.
Cheers
I was having a hard time trying to get the copperhead detected by the Hubu (tried the razer driver software too) on Vista Ultimate 64bit. Although the mouse had been detected as a HIDevice by Windows, the Software provided by Razer did not recognice the Copperhead. As a workaround, I have installed the software on another computer running Windows XP. Since the configuration gets stored on the device, I can now use my quick-set buttons as I wished on Vista too.. Just a workaround.. hope it may prevent somebodys headache out there..
Tom
Why is the most important left for last? I’m starting to be desperate.. i need sound!! plz razer.. hurry up!!! Don’t take more then a week
In my system not even the onboard sound works on vista… Asus striker also fails in that!!
PLz plz plz…. jurry up guys!
I second Kostassoundmaniac.
The AC-1 need support sooner rather than later. It’s not the least expensive card on the market ya know, and as of now, it’s unusable for Vista owners like myself.
I really dont want to return this card, I bought it just for the sole purpose of giving my CPU a little less processing work to do, hoping to speed up game play, but once I heard the sound - I was in love.
Razer has about as much of an excuse as Apple does about not having drivers out yet….how long does a company need to know about a major OS being released before drivers are released.
You guys charge enoough for your Hardware….try spending some of it on your development staff.
Why are you able to release a vista driver for the diamond back but not for the copperhead!!!!! PLEASE hurry up and get a vista copperhead driver out so I can stop playing WoW and start playing some fps’s. I cant handle this wireless microsoft mouse any longer. I am getting close to going to best buy and getting a nice logitec mouse and throwing the copperhead in the trash.
BETA drivers for the Copperhead for Windows Vista have been available on the download section from Razer Blueprints since February 28 http://www.razerblueprints.net/. If you are using the Copperhead and Windows Vista give them a try but keep in mind that these drivers are unsupported by Razer at this time as they are still in beta status.
Why not address the issue, by maybe thanking us for our loyalty, or explaining why we don’t have these drivers available. Offering a beta driver or just asking us to wait seems as though you are not listening to what we are saying. We all love RAZER products, and our reward for spending hundreds of dollars on the hardware is that we cannot use it. It is a well known fact that early adopters of an OS are typically the same people who spend a bunch of money on hardware, we like to be on the cutting edge.
Anyway, I for one am just going to be patient and install vista AFTER you get me those drivers.
I also purchased the barracuda soundcard. I am shocked that Razer would be this slow to support their product. There should be information on Razer’s website that keeps us informed about vista drivers. lack of drivers and update info spell bad customer support. I have found an alternative company called Auzentech that sells high end audio cards with better support and equal quality. I will return my Razer card for one of theirs. They have info about Vista drivers on their front page, and are up to date with good drivers. Too bad, so sad, wish Razer had done their homework.
This is pathetic… plain and simple, Just spent $200 for this GD sound card to work with the HP-1 and cant even use it with Vista x64 … I was even forced to offer XP with my razer rigs I build just because of the sound card. Poor Poor Support, can’t believe I purchased this when I own an X-Fi elite. I wont buy another razer product ever again.
Vista has only been in beta for like a year, Dev’s shoulda picked up a copy of the public RC-1 Months ago. Did they? maybe… but did they do anything constructive with it? NO.
Don’t buy a razer product if you have Vista .. Bottom line.
First, Logitech completely neglected its fan base by denying the fact that their G15 keyboard was compatible with Vista when it was clearly not. Now we have Razer just not providing proper drivers for their most expensive mouse - Copperhead. Come on, seriously, how long has the Vista been available for all the hardware providers? Well, the race is over, I’ve been going back and forth between Logitech.com and Razerzone.com to check up on driver availability and Logitech won albeit with a beta. I really didn’t want to complain and gripe because I’m sure everyone’s sick of reading the same thing written by different people but I’m so frustrated that I thought,”what the heck, I’ll lower myself to that level.”
Im returning my Barracuda today. I cant risk being stuck with an unusable piece of hardware that costs $200.
Im sure there are other cards that work on vista.
I wonder why all the other card company have beta drivers for Vista, like BlueGear B-Enspirer 7.1 and Azuentech Meridian they both use the same chip as the Razer Barracuda. So why hasn’t Razer release beta drivers for Barracuda? Dang I should have gotten the other companies card at least they got beta drivers out that you can actually use on Vista!
This is pathetic, we are now going into the second to last week in March and still no AC-1 Sound drivers. I’ve had to revert to crappy onboard audio, how sad. I can’t believe that Razer is this pathetic, how can they say there a gaming hardware company? Vista is the new gaming OS, you have to get it for DX10 and yet look at this great support. I can’t believe them. Worst company ever, this driver support is pathetic. What did you guys do Razer, wait until a month after Vista was released to start work on the drivers? I don’t think I’m going to use them in the future, I think I’m going to go to Auzentech at least they got a Vista driver out.
Just checking.. still no Vista drivers for the AC-1.. I am spreading the word at New egg and on gameing blogs of this wonderful support! Do a google search on No vista drivers for the AC-1.. my handywork is thier.. Let this be a motivational tool for lazy developers and shoddy marketing folks..Sorry you lost a fanboi.. I had bought boht the sound card and head phones… no more $$ for you RZr..
OK, it’s March 20th…and there are still no Razer Copperhead drivers for Windows Vista? You people are truly pathetic. Windows Vista is not some little-known software package, it’s *the* biggest software manufacturer’s flagship product–and has only been in active development…what, for almost FIVE YEARS–and there are still no drivers for your products that work under Windows Vista…even two and a half months after the OS officially was shipped.
Seriously, that is *pathetic*.
Mind you, I only have a Copperhead mouse–and it still does work, though not to its fullest potential, in the absence of working Vista drivers, but after reading the above comments and statements made by others, I have no choice but to say I’m positively disgusted with you people. How about getting off your asses and supporting your hardware? This isn’t rocket science: it’s just adjusting existing drivers to function on a slightly-different driver model.
I waited like one week after vista was released before i returned the sound card. I was good friends with the store manager and told him about the issue. Surpisingly he sent all the the razer products back and got a refund on his side of the purchase.
This is completley unaccepetable. Razer had over a year to produce a driver. Yet they don’t even have a beta for the sound card. These guys are gonna loose a ton of money because of it.
I’ve sold my AC1 card and just bought a nice and beautifull X-Meridian!! The sound is amazing!!! i’m in love with this new little card and of course i’ve got beta drivers for vista… thei are not perfect but at least i have quality sound in my OS!!
I’m glad to see so many of you out there trying to get Razer to see there errors. I’ve been doing my part since late January by purchasing a different brand of sound card and making sure any and all of my customers are aware of the lack of support for Vista with Razer products. They really need to feel the heat or they will never think they did anything wrong. Like most of you siad, it’s not like they didn’t know about Vista for the last 5 years and on top of the RTM build were done months in advance of the late January launch. There is no way they should have screwed this up so bad. They deserve to have such bad reviews.
Ok it is the 2nd of April, where is the beta drivers for Razer Barracuda Sound card like Razer promise us, bring us the goods! Drivers, drivers, drivers!!!
I’ve had a “URGENT” ticket in since February about the absence of a Vista compatible driver for the AC-1. All I’ve gotten in response is “We’re working on it.” Not exactly all that heart warming to hear only that. I’m not feeling the $200 was well spent at all at this time. Worked great in XP, doesn’t work so great in Vista.
Come on Razer I know the chipset has had beta vista drivers out for months now. There’s no excuse.
Still waiting for 64-bit Copperhead Drivers (did hope they would be out by I30 but guess not :(, Ul about your AC-1 Drivers. But when they are ready you know they be the best
fuck for razer!!!!!
how long must we wait for copperhead vista 64 drivers? how do you start working on it. i will change my os from xp to vista, but without a mouse drive i can not do it. look on calender. it is april. next time i buy thinks with a better suport then razer.
Using Vista….so logically enough I’m using the long-awaited Vista driver for the Tarantula. What a GREAT keyboard!! You guys are AMAZING! Who else in the business would think of making a USB keyboard that is totally disfunctional during bootup! Every *&^%$%^ 10-dollar USB keyboard in the entire world is designed to have functional keys during bootup (i.e. Delete, Enter, F8, etc.), but you guys were SO busy designing cool programmable keys that you decided to forego those essential functional keys during bootup. Yes….USB is fully enabled in the BIOS. How do I know that? Glad you asked….I replaced a cheapy USB keyboard with the Tarantula. The cheapy USB keyboard had functional bootup keys…..I had to unplug the Tarantula and use the old keyboard just to get INTO the BIOS!
C’mon guys! I dished out $100 for this &*&^ keyboard and it is missing a basic function that every other keyboard has!!!! Get WITH the program!!!!!! IF there is an answer to this problem, then for crap’s sake put it in the FAQ!!!
I just bought Vista Ultimate 64bit and have $5000 computer, the Fatal1ty X-Fi card has what I now found out is SCP (snap crackle pops) that is horrendous for an expensive card. I just ordered the HP1 headphones and have a boomslang. So the obvious fix for me is…the AC-1. But, alas, I read near June 2007…no drivers. They forums say in february they should be out any day now. Not good. This card looks great, but I may have to with a Auzen Meridian 7.1 which supports vista (and 64bit) presently and is the only other truly high-end card besides the aforementioned. It is frustrating. At least a beta. At least a generic recogntion with limited functionality while one waits. I’d go ahead and get the AC1 on good faith if that were the case, but no sound at all…uhh, my faith ain’t that good…especially when any day now has turned into 120 days and counting. Not the most positive comments on this page. Sad to see a company achieving so much success and was loved getting torn down, maybe irrepairably for all these driver issues. DID YOU NOT THINK THE DEMOGRAPHIC THAT DOES HIGH END GAMING WOULD USE THE HIGHEST END OPERATING SYSTEM?
yes this is bs, i have the AC1 and whiles it a great card, im still waiting to upgrade to VISTA 64bit……my 4GB of ram is wasted in XP
WTF is going on? Razer said Feb07 was the due date in like Nov06, i waiting those 4 months, nothing. Now ive waited ANOTHER 4 months…..Soon im going to have had this card for a year….with no VISTA support…..wtf?
come on i have a vista 64bit install on one drive but cant use it till there is at least a beta diver for my AC-1 soundcard having to use my other drive with xp
wish to god Razer could give us a firm and steadfast date on the release of certified ac-1 vista drivers,,, the beta drivers are for all intents and purposes,, BrokeN!!!,, no where near the product that it should be. A release date that Razer can commit to and give us some confidence that they actually give a shit,, Next gen games like bioshock are mere weeks away,, Crysis is a couple of months away,,,are we going to be able to use our ac-1 in a direct x10 environment that only vista offers to use this sound card for what we laid out good money for,,, we can only hope
I have windwos vista 64bit ultimate and just installed the vista drivers for my ac-1 sound card. I installed the drivers (version 2.20b) and it went through the entire install process with no crashes or problems of any kind. When it asks to reboot after the install it reboots and when your comp starts back up again the computer still is not detecting the sound card or any audio divice. I have tried to reinstall it several times with no luck. I can see the stuff it installed in program files and under all programs, So whats the deal?
the v2.20 beta drivers do not work for vista 64, I just baught the ac-1 and find it doesnt work with vista, please make it clear on all sales sites that this card does not work with vista, you have a week to come up with drivers or the card goes back and i go with creative
Yea, i have even tried the 2.21b and it still won’t work…the Barracuda config won’t load, this is what it says in device manager:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click ‘Check for solutions’ to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
Razer, considering this is really the only piece of hardware that doesn’t work without drivers, the drivers should have been made first for the soundcard. not the mouse.
I raise a ticket yesterday and having been used to the dire approach of most hardware/software developers i wasnt expecting too much back.
Let me tell you this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get a response back within an hour to say they were working on it. I then replied to their response with the usual snotty and when do you think something will get done and they then replied with “rest assured our guys are working hard on it and its difficult to say when ” or something like that.
Low and behold new drivers have been released today 2.21b that say they fix my exact issue of (Code 39) driver not loaded.
I find this to be incredible and what s more they have changed my perception of how companies work. Their responses have been fast and honest, I am blown away that not only have they recieved a snotty email and a rather snotty blog message (see above) of which has been generated through my frustrations from my dealing with other software/hardware vendors.
I am astounded they have not only listed to my critisisms and have resolved it in a timescale I wouldn’t have dreamed possible. They haven’t even removed my snotty blog message how’s that for honesty
Genuinely, thanks RAZER.
When your in the UK RazerGuy shout me I will take you for a pint!
PS i will take the guy who fixed it for a pint as well i doubt RazerGuy get his hands dirty in the code.
just tryed the 2.21 drivers for the ac-1, still same results, it goes through the install fine asks to restart, comp restarts and still sees no audio output device, at least your working on the problem i guess
I just installed v2.21 beta drivers. They do not work. I tried installing it sever times and no luck. I have been a supporter of Razer for a long time now. I even work for a major company that sells your product. I can’t afford to spend anymore time on failed software. This card worked great with XP. But seeing how long it has taken to get these drivers and seeing them fail has left me no choice. I will just have to get anouther card and do my bussiness with anouther company.Maybe when the Next windows version comes out you guys will have it.
The simple fact is the soundcard DOESN’T work without drivers, costing users $200/£150-200 or whatever, and when you goto vista, your absolutely buggered, the soundcard sits there for 6 months with no use. (I knew it would be out a month or 2, but not this long!)
Don’t get me wrong Razer has done great with the Mouse, but why do the drivers for a mouse that will work already, when it should be done for the hardware that doesn’t work. e.g. the soundcard.
Thankgod for inbuilt soundcards on the Mobo, otherwise customers would be pissed.
But as i said above the DRIVERS DO NOT WORK! Tried on both installations with no success, ran as admin, no success etc… i have even had UAC turned off with no success.
Hey ok guys they do actually work!!!! But you have to disable something first. Nothing of this was said until i opened a support ticket.
This works for 64bit definatly dunno about 32bit.
When you boot up press F8 just after the bios screen dissapears, you should come up with multiple options, windows options.
One of them is “Disable Signature Enforcement” (It something like that, you can’t miss it) then your razer drivers should work straight away when you load into Vista, if not reinstall them and it will be ok!
I finally have my Razer SoundCard working!!! =) =D
I also vote for a FORUMS on the razer site, so help and information can be passed on easier, rather than support tickets, which can only help the person who opened it!
I have the exact same problem as Bistro. My Razer Tarantula cannot do anything at the BIOS Post Message screen. I have to switch to some other generic keyboard to get it to load up vista. Once I’ve loaded up vista with the generic keyboard, only then can I switch back to the Razer Tarantula and it will function properly. How do you get around this problem?
i have the ac barracuda soundcard and xp 64bit and the driver doesnt work for me. the customapp utility fails to start i need driver for xp 64bit. im waiting for your reply please dont forget me .
havent seen a full release of the barracuda drivers since the the second beta release, which were a major improvement i have to say, just wondering where you guys are at with the full release drivers and when we can expect certified drivers to be available for download,,, hope to hear back soon,,,, many thanx,, ScawttiE
I think we have been patient enough it is almost a full 12 months since you promised us vista drivers admittedly we got beta drivers in september but these are buggy at best.
Us razer fans are loyal and have spent alot of money with you we deserve the same loyalty back.
So far I have bought from you
1x tarantuala
2x reclusa
1xdiamondback
1xcopperhead
1xac1
1xhp1
and this is the thanks I get
I dont think ill buy anything more from razer
still waiting to hear how those barracuda certified drivers are coming along,,, as mentioned above it has been a long time coming,, people at least need to know where they stand on this issue,, there is no doubt the card is an exceptional one,, which is why we customers have purchased it,,, back on august the 15th the second beta was released, with a 2 week bug testing period to ensure it was problem free before a full release. here we are approaching the end of november and there have been no further updates offered and no indication of certified drivers. Cmon at least throw us a bone and let us the customers know what the go is, i know there will always be complaints but it helps to pacify us customers if we have an idea of what to expect
any updates on the barracuda vista drivers,,,, better still hows the full certified driver release looking,,, is there anything on the horizon, like i have said before, the card rocks,,, but when are the full drivers going to come winging down the net to us patient and vigilant customers,,, just some feedback would be an absolute cracker right now
i agree with bistro, the Tarantula cost me a bit of money and i cant even acess the bios or switch between operating systems. I run both xp and vista, to switch between them i need to plug in a 10$ keyboard.. Please razer make a fix to this problem..
Well my AC-1 works fine in Vista, but I am not too impressed by Razer’s support. You would think that a company built for high-end gamers would actually try and keep their fanbase happy. I will probably not be buying anything else from Razer unless they start providing some good service!!!
I just bought a Barracuda AC-1 and installed it with a fresh copy of Win XP 64-bit. As soon as the app / driver finishes installing it crashes. Reading through this forum it seems i’m not the only one. Pretty dissapointed that such a high priced quality sound card would have such dismal support in getting drivers that actually worked. This is my first Razer purchase and I can’t say i’ll be recommending this product to anybody else until its working…
I have had no luck installing drivers for my barracuda AC-1 using Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I’m stuck, for now, using the on-board sound, but may have to resort to digging out my old soundblaster card.
Have been patiently waiting for drivers that work for the Barracuda AC-1. Can’t install the 2.22c because they ar not signed. Is Razer too cheap to pay Microsoft for signed drivers or will Microsoft not sign them because they are so buggy? What came first the chicken or the egg? About to give up, I thought Razer was a company with high standards but thier lack of driver development for thier products especially the sound card and Hp1 headphones that i shelled out 400 bucks for is apalling.
If your using vista 32-bit the AC-1 drivers seem to be working, and I could install them just fined, even unsigned.
With that being said, i was going to pick up the HP-1’s but I’m seriously thinking of holding off, because as much as i like my razer products, the driver support is….well….a bit absurd to say the least. Whats going on with the drivers etc? Maybe you guys need to hire more people to write the drivers, or the peeps you do have are just not getting the job done. Especially when driver problems are going back as far as almost 2 years for some of these products.
I bought the barracuda sound card over 2 months ago and have yet to install it. I a waiting on signed x64 vista drives…c’on Razer, you can and should do better than this. It’s not like vista was released overnight and caught you by surprise. YOU OWE IT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS TO RELEASE SIGNED DRIVERS!!! PATHETIC……..
Another call for signed AC-1 drivers for Vista 64. Can you let us know if this will be done or should we sell our Razer cards and buy from another company?
vista 32 won’t let me install the drivers for the lycosa. This keyboard is really sweet but its worthless without a driver that works. I downloaded the newest version of the driver hoping it would solve the problem but it does the same thing. The installation of the driver fails because they are unsigned. All other drivers on my computer work except for this one. Please release a driver that works else I am returning this keyboard. I am using a different keyboard temporarily to type this. I would be thankful for just a driver only install so that I can just install the driver to get it working. I like the software but if I don’t want the software to be installed I shouldn’t be forced to in order to type things on the computer with it.
Can we please get software for the deathadder that works with Vista 64 if only so i can turn off these frickin lights, they are melting my hands.
Also i cant adjust any of the settings like DPI or Hz or even sensitivity, its a joke, i didnt pay this much for a mouse to have it working half arsed.
i even asked support for some help and the responce was fantastic and went like this
“reinstall the drivers”
Great stuff Razer.and yes im using 1.08 driver with the latest 1.27 firmware and the mouse runs lovely on my Girlfriends XP pc.
November 30th, 2006 at 1:26 am
I would post some amazing video except for the fact that my Razer Copperhead DOESN’T WORK ON WINDOWS VISTA! NEW DRIVERS PLZ! ASAFP!
November 30th, 2006 at 8:55 pm
After that the rough prioritization for Vista support products is:
1) Barracuda AC-1, Tarantula
2) Copperhead, Diamondback, Krait, ProClick
We have different driver guys that work on different products, so a lot of this will be parallel development.
Sorry Navarre, I don’t really have a firm ETA at this point
January 17th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
It’s Jan 17, is there any word on Vista drivers?
January 22nd, 2007 at 2:32 pm
C´mon Razer guys, i bought me this sweet mouse from you called Deathadder, by far the best Razer mouse to date. But i cant use it, you guys still havent produced any Vista Drivers!!? Its already out there, people are using this new good looking OS. Please give us the opportunity to use youre great hardware on it!!? Everyone else “almost” have released vista drivers, you guys are one of few without any, atleast release some beta version, so i can adjust these crazy DPI´s on this thing!!? Pleaaasssee!!
Thx.
January 23rd, 2007 at 7:59 am
Bought myself Diamondback only to be totally pissed off by its drivers not working in Win Vista - totally useless there, causes massive glitches.
No response from Razer on this, no timeframe set. Is it how you support customers?
February 2nd, 2007 at 2:43 am
any more news on drivers?

Same problem for me. How can you not have any Vista drivers yet?? It’s not really a big supprise that MS was going to release Vista. Very bad planning from you guys. You want people to buy your stuff, but it doesn’t seem like you give a shit if it works or not. If you don’t even have any beta drivers, you are really far behind. For me, only one solution, though you shit product in the wall, and buy a new product that actually works on my system. thanks for nothing.
February 4th, 2007 at 7:45 am
same problem i have razer keyboard mouse soundcard but no drivers i no they take time but there is not even a mention about vista on the razer site great stuff but come on with the lack of information
February 4th, 2007 at 1:58 pm
Come on fuys - sort it out.
Your market share is dropping!
February 6th, 2007 at 12:58 am
I’ve recently received a Barracuda AC-1 Sound Card… no Vista Support! What the hell am I supposed to do with a sound card that doesn’t have drivers???
February 8th, 2007 at 6:19 am
Again a company on the hardwarefront that does not think on their hard paying customers, the hw of razer is not the cheapest. After Creative (soudblaster) Razer also does not have working software to run under Vista.
i bought from the begining Razer products that start with the boomslang 2000. But for now i am very disapointed. if you worked with M$ then i.m.o. you can work easy to build new drivers and be ahaead of the competittors. That would Razer strong.
i’m serious thinking to stop all acivities on Razer products.
cheers,
Richard
February 8th, 2007 at 8:20 am
I need Vista drivers for my Diamondback… shame on razer that they didnt made them on time … shame again
February 9th, 2007 at 4:20 am
Okay. I’ve had it enough with checking the site for vista driver EVERY DAY. I just threw it on the wall and shattered. I feel so much better. I’ll move onto Logitech. At least, they don’t treat customers like idiots and belittle.
February 11th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
Feb, 11 2007 and unless i am missing somthing there are still no vista drivers for the copperhead mouse.. Been using razor products since i bought my first boomslang several years ago. Never been disappointed. Still not disappointed the mouse works with vista HID compliant driver, but has no functions except standard moust functions.
February 12th, 2007 at 10:34 pm
Razer diamondback driver doesn’t seem to work in Vista 32bit… it has a vista folder but extra buttons do not work when loaded and tray does nothing when changing settings.
Just an update for you guys. Any idea on an eta.. i miss my razer driver but i have to run vista at home for training for work.
February 13th, 2007 at 5:58 am
Thnks.
February 15th, 2007 at 9:04 am
Hmmm still no vista news
Please Razer listen our prayers!!! We are beging you…
Thnks in advance.
February 15th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
you work with microsoft…..why dont you get them to help with the drivers?
February 17th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
This is not a Microsoft product, but a Razer one… so it’s not Microsoft responsability to get us the drivers even if i’m using a microsft based OS
Razer come on… you are taking to many time!! I’m almost thinking of giving up your products
with big regret, but it’s true
It’s unpleasant to have such a nice hardware and don’t have the chance to use it in our computers…
February 20th, 2007 at 10:15 am
I just bought the AC1 and dropped the idea of buying the Tarantula and the Copperhead/Deathadder for now.
You are great on the hardware front - but you are losers when it comes to providing drivers for the hardware!
Vista has been out for around 4 months now (considering the betas too). where have you been all this time?
February 20th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
February 24th, 2007 at 10:29 am
I am building a new system and bought the Barracuda AC-1 and headset to go into it. I will be running 64 bit Vista Ultimate. Now that I see there are no drivers and apparently no eta for drivers I better return it. From the hype I expected the perfect gaming audio, too bad Razer doesn’t support their product.
February 26th, 2007 at 7:14 pm
I’m already a proud owner of the Razer Barracuda HP-1 and Copperhead, and was looking into purchasing the AC-1 to go with a brand new $3,300 computer set-up I just ordered. I’m sad to see that the Vista drivers are not yet available for Razer products, and am concerned as to when they will be made available. I hope this issue clears up soon.
February 26th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
I have been checking for a month now still not vista Drivers.. I am buying another souncard and heacset on Payday.. a shame I loveed my AC1 but this is unforgivable.. You should had hired some more developers or started on drivers sooner.. gamers need sound and my onboard sucks.. so I am going otu and gettting a new card and tossing your stuff.. sorry you lost a customer.. I have broadcasted to my guild on Vangaurd that you all suck for Vista so dont invest in them.. so dont look to any investment from my folks… later.. this was a burnt message…
February 27th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
February 27th, 2007 at 5:49 pm
February 28th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
Bestbuy in Wisconsin has a sign up by the keyboards and mice saying that Razer mice do not work with Vista.
Wow, that’s gotta put a dent in sales…they are recommending Logitech for gamers.
I guess they have drivers out for all of there mice.
What I don’t understand is Razer says nothing about having drivers complete for all their mice, no time frame or nothing….must be a small company.
February 28th, 2007 at 5:18 pm
March 1st, 2007 at 11:17 am

Why is the most important left for last? I’m starting to be desperate.. i need sound!! plz razer.. hurry up!!! Don’t take more then a week

I Agree…. i’m feeling so lonely without sound
:(
March 3rd, 2007 at 2:55 pm
I Need COpperHead drivers
March 3rd, 2007 at 2:56 pm
^^ with vista lol 32 bit
March 3rd, 2007 at 6:29 pm
I second Kostassoundmaniac.
The AC-1 need support sooner rather than later. It’s not the least expensive card on the market ya know, and as of now, it’s unusable for Vista owners like myself.
I really dont want to return this card, I bought it just for the sole purpose of giving my CPU a little less processing work to do, hoping to speed up game play, but once I heard the sound - I was in love.
Just Git-er done boyz, git-er done.
March 3rd, 2007 at 11:39 pm
Razer has about as much of an excuse as Apple does about not having drivers out yet….how long does a company need to know about a major OS being released before drivers are released.
You guys charge enoough for your Hardware….try spending some of it on your development staff.
March 5th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Why are you able to release a vista driver for the diamond back but not for the copperhead!!!!! PLEASE hurry up and get a vista copperhead driver out so I can stop playing WoW and start playing some fps’s. I cant handle this wireless microsoft mouse any longer. I am getting close to going to best buy and getting a nice logitec mouse and throwing the copperhead in the trash.
March 5th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
March 5th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Why not address the issue, by maybe thanking us for our loyalty, or explaining why we don’t have these drivers available. Offering a beta driver or just asking us to wait seems as though you are not listening to what we are saying. We all love RAZER products, and our reward for spending hundreds of dollars on the hardware is that we cannot use it. It is a well known fact that early adopters of an OS are typically the same people who spend a bunch of money on hardware, we like to be on the cutting edge.
Anyway, I for one am just going to be patient and install vista AFTER you get me those drivers.
March 7th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
dont forget about vista 64 drivers for copperhead as well ^_^
March 8th, 2007 at 9:58 am
Why why Copperhead has not drivers??? Why
March 8th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
I also purchased the barracuda soundcard. I am shocked that Razer would be this slow to support their product. There should be information on Razer’s website that keeps us informed about vista drivers. lack of drivers and update info spell bad customer support. I have found an alternative company called Auzentech that sells high end audio cards with better support and equal quality. I will return my Razer card for one of theirs. They have info about Vista drivers on their front page, and are up to date with good drivers. Too bad, so sad, wish Razer had done their homework.
March 12th, 2007 at 10:31 am
Still no Vista drivers for the AC-1 Barracuda. This is terrible.
March 12th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
March 14th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
March 16th, 2007 at 9:23 am
Im returning my Barracuda today. I cant risk being stuck with an unusable piece of hardware that costs $200.
Im sure there are other cards that work on vista.
March 16th, 2007 at 3:55 pm
I wonder why all the other card company have beta drivers for Vista, like BlueGear B-Enspirer 7.1 and Azuentech Meridian they both use the same chip as the Razer Barracuda. So why hasn’t Razer release beta drivers for Barracuda? Dang I should have gotten the other companies card at least they got beta drivers out that you can actually use on Vista!
March 18th, 2007 at 6:00 pm
March 19th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Just checking.. still no Vista drivers for the AC-1.. I am spreading the word at New egg and on gameing blogs of this wonderful support! Do a google search on No vista drivers for the AC-1.. my handywork is thier.. Let this be a motivational tool for lazy developers and shoddy marketing folks..Sorry you lost a fanboi.. I had bought boht the sound card and head phones… no more $$ for you RZr..
March 20th, 2007 at 12:04 am
March 21st, 2007 at 12:52 pm
I waited like one week after vista was released before i returned the sound card. I was good friends with the store manager and told him about the issue. Surpisingly he sent all the the razer products back and got a refund on his side of the purchase.
This is completley unaccepetable. Razer had over a year to produce a driver. Yet they don’t even have a beta for the sound card. These guys are gonna loose a ton of money because of it.
March 21st, 2007 at 5:43 pm
I’ve sold my AC1 card and just bought a nice and beautifull X-Meridian!! The sound is amazing!!! i’m in love with this new little card and of course i’ve got beta drivers for vista… thei are not perfect but at least i have quality sound in my OS!!
I’m very sad with you Razer… really i am
Best regards
March 21st, 2007 at 8:52 pm
I’m glad to see so many of you out there trying to get Razer to see there errors. I’ve been doing my part since late January by purchasing a different brand of sound card and making sure any and all of my customers are aware of the lack of support for Vista with Razer products. They really need to feel the heat or they will never think they did anything wrong. Like most of you siad, it’s not like they didn’t know about Vista for the last 5 years and on top of the RTM build were done months in advance of the late January launch. There is no way they should have screwed this up so bad. They deserve to have such bad reviews.
April 2nd, 2007 at 8:06 am
Ok it is the 2nd of April, where is the beta drivers for Razer Barracuda Sound card like Razer promise us, bring us the goods! Drivers, drivers, drivers!!!
April 3rd, 2007 at 10:11 am
hmmm April 3rd and still nothing…
So where is the driver for AC-1 razer???
Cheers
April 3rd, 2007 at 7:01 pm
I’ve had a “URGENT” ticket in since February about the absence of a Vista compatible driver for the AC-1. All I’ve gotten in response is “We’re working on it.” Not exactly all that heart warming to hear only that. I’m not feeling the $200 was well spent at all at this time. Worked great in XP, doesn’t work so great in Vista.
Come on Razer I know the chipset has had beta vista drivers out for months now. There’s no excuse.
April 4th, 2007 at 6:13 pm
Still waiting for 64-bit Copperhead Drivers (did hope they would be out by I30 but guess not :(, Ul about your AC-1 Drivers. But when they are ready you know they be the best
April 7th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
fuck for razer!!!!!
how long must we wait for copperhead vista 64 drivers? how do you start working on it. i will change my os from xp to vista, but without a mouse drive i can not do it. look on calender. it is april. next time i buy thinks with a better suport then razer.
sorry about english, but iam german.

May 26th, 2007 at 10:38 am
June 19th, 2007 at 5:32 pm
yes this is bs, i have the AC1 and whiles it a great card, im still waiting to upgrade to VISTA 64bit……my 4GB of ram is wasted in XP
WTF is going on? Razer said Feb07 was the due date in like Nov06, i waiting those 4 months, nothing. Now ive waited ANOTHER 4 months…..Soon im going to have had this card for a year….with no VISTA support…..wtf?
July 29th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
come on i have a vista 64bit install on one drive but cant use it till there is at least a beta diver for my AC-1 soundcard having to use my other drive with xp
August 15th, 2007 at 2:47 am
wish to god Razer could give us a firm and steadfast date on the release of certified ac-1 vista drivers,,, the beta drivers are for all intents and purposes,, BrokeN!!!,, no where near the product that it should be.
August 17th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
The plan in R&D is that if these last 2 weeks with no major problems or bug feedback, they will do a full release.
August 17th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
awesome news,,,, thnakyou so much razerguy,, that is all i needed to hear,, many thanx
August 23rd, 2007 at 12:35 am
I have windwos vista 64bit ultimate and just installed the vista drivers for my ac-1 sound card. I installed the drivers (version 2.20b) and it went through the entire install process with no crashes or problems of any kind. When it asks to reboot after the install it reboots and when your comp starts back up again the computer still is not detecting the sound card or any audio divice. I have tried to reinstall it several times with no luck. I can see the stuff it installed in program files and under all programs, So whats the deal?
August 23rd, 2007 at 9:12 pm
the v2.20 beta drivers do not work for vista 64, I just baught the ac-1 and find it doesnt work with vista, please make it clear on all sales sites that this card does not work with vista, you have a week to come up with drivers or the card goes back and i go with creative
August 31st, 2007 at 8:15 am
Yea, i have even tried the 2.21b and it still won’t work…the Barracuda config won’t load, this is what it says in device manager:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click ‘Check for solutions’ to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
Razer, considering this is really the only piece of hardware that doesn’t work without drivers, the drivers should have been made first for the soundcard. not the mouse.
August 31st, 2007 at 8:33 am
Ticket ID ; GGA-912245 - for your reference
September 1st, 2007 at 12:00 pm
just tryed the 2.21 drivers for the ac-1, still same results, it goes through the install fine asks to restart, comp restarts and still sees no audio output device, at least your working on the problem i guess
September 1st, 2007 at 4:29 pm
I just installed v2.21 beta drivers. They do not work. I tried installing it sever times and no luck. I have been a supporter of Razer for a long time now. I even work for a major company that sells your product. I can’t afford to spend anymore time on failed software. This card worked great with XP. But seeing how long it has taken to get these drivers and seeing them fail has left me no choice. I will just have to get anouther card and do my bussiness with anouther company.Maybe when the Next windows version comes out you guys will have it.
September 2nd, 2007 at 6:48 am
September 2nd, 2007 at 9:49 am
Yah i have the same problem, dont work for me in Vista 64 bit but well in xp
September 3rd, 2007 at 4:19 am
P.s. The pints are off, the driver update doesnt work! (see earlier post).
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:39 am
ROFL - This is a strap line for Razer at the bottom of this page
“Stay Ahead Of Your Competition With Razer Technology Updates & Product Releases”
I wish Razer would!
September 4th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Razer make a Forums!!
September 5th, 2007 at 1:42 pm
The Pints are back on it works. Cheers guys
September 22nd, 2007 at 12:46 pm
I have the exact same problem as Bistro. My Razer Tarantula cannot do anything at the BIOS Post Message screen. I have to switch to some other generic keyboard to get it to load up vista. Once I’ve loaded up vista with the generic keyboard, only then can I switch back to the Razer Tarantula and it will function properly. How do you get around this problem?
October 12th, 2007 at 6:14 pm

still waiting to hear how those barracuda certified drivers are coming along,,, as mentioned above it has been a long time coming,, people at least need to know where they stand on this issue,, there is no doubt the card is an exceptional one,, which is why we customers have purchased it,,, back on august the 15th the second beta was released, with a 2 week bug testing period to ensure it was problem free before a full release. here we are approaching the end of november and there have been no further updates offered and no indication of certified drivers.

Just reinstalled Vista and the AC-1 drivers and now I have to press F8 at every reboot because the drivers arent signed!
This is NOT good enough!
Any workaround on this??

I have had no luck installing drivers for my barracuda AC-1 using Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I’m stuck, for now, using the on-board sound, but may have to resort to digging out my old soundblaster card.
Any help here?

Have been patiently waiting for drivers that work for the Barracuda AC-1. Can’t install the 2.22c because they ar not signed. Is Razer too cheap to pay Microsoft for signed drivers or will Microsoft not sign them because they are so buggy? What came first the chicken or the egg? About to give up, I thought Razer was a company with high standards but thier lack of driver development for thier products especially the sound card and Hp1 headphones that i shelled out 400 bucks for is apalling.
Never again will I buy another Razer product.
