I own habu from 1 year.Probably the best mouse ever , but the cable really sux . This is my 3rd habu and I am tired to use any technique with cable holder and other things. After warranty I will use hammer :) , because I do not want to spend 5 euro for repair per month (for stupid cable).

the microsoft habu is a great mouse but it s kinda expensive. at that price you can get a razer diamondback and a razer mantis pad . so . . . i really don t think it s worth the price

Whilst that's true, the feet just don't seem to last that long, though it is nice they provided replacement feet with the instruction sheet. I just wish SOMEONE would take responsibility for the Habu so I could order more.

There's a replacement set of feet that come with the Habu.
Taped to the instruction manual I believe.

I haven't tried using the Copperhead's drivers and firmware with the Habu.
I read it helps low sensing a little, but then I also read about people who were trying to get their mouse back to the Habu firmware, and were not successful.

I hope MS and Razer will make a sequel mouse to the Habu. That would be pretty cool.

Uh, sorry. To add to my last comment.. i don't know if the eXactmat just chews up mouse glides, or if the Habu's glides are too flush with the body, but my mouse pads were worn out in a couple weeks. Sadly, I can't get any replacements from Razer, and Microsoft doesn't even provide a support address. Fun times. If you're in my problem, search for Hyperglide. They make replacement pads for the Copperhead - a little cutting and they work brilliantly. Roughly the same glide you get from Razer's pads, but I still wish I could find where to get some damn replacement teflon from Razer themselves.

Holy.. crap. I've got a Habu. Setup was nothing short of a nightmare. Once I got over that, however..

The shape takes getting used to, but it feels excellent once you are used to it. The buttons all have perfect travel and resistance, the changeable side panels is a godsend (I literally switched from palm-steady to wrist steady in two weeks after having the Habu.. thank god the buttons could change to support it) and the accuracy is excellent. Skipping is an issue if you play low-sens on a black surface, but on a white it's dramatically reduced. In addition, the tracking is off with a QPad 1. I switched to eXactMat and it was perfect. Though, not great if I was a low-sense player.

Personally, I think the changes to palm grip, different side buttons and improved Laser make the Habu the best mid-sense mouse that Razer produce. The finger grip makes Copperhead superior for high sense, and the 3G Infrared makes the DeathAdder run brilliant for LowSense. All three feel fantastic on an eXactMat (speed side preferably).

This guy is a twat though. Seriously. I should not have watched that awful ad. I feel bad for owning a Habu now. o.O

Well if you dont mind rebooting your pc about 45 times trying out different fixes, Then finally having to use another mouses drivers (the copperhead) to actually be able to install the Habu and get it to work with the software.

Then if you dont mind microsoft tech support sending you to Razer and Razer sending you to microsoft as neither will take responsibilty for the problem then by all means the Habu mouse is for you.

Well, I've owned both the Razer DeathAdder, and the Microsoft/Razer Habu.

Habu doesn't feel as well constructed. The two main buttons have no tension. You only have to look at the right click button, and just the added weight from your eyesight will make that button click. So yes, there is a compromise is quality.

The surface isn't as comfortable to hold as the Habu's surface.

You say the Habu borrowed from the DeathAdder, but Habu came out first, and had two more buttons.
DeathAdder borrowed from the Habu is the correct statement.

The only thing the DA has over the Habu is the 3G Infared Optical sensor, which gives 1 mm lift off distance on hard mouse pads.
But on cloth pads, the lift off distance is even higher than laser mice, like the Habu, or G5.

So if you prefer cloth pads, then right now you're not going to be very happy with the DeathAdder.

If you're a low senser gamer, then the best mouse for you is probably the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 remake. It's designed for low sensers, and has about 1 mm lift off distance on cloth pads, and hard pads.
Captures 9,000 images per second, so it never looses it's place, and never skips.

The G5 remake also looks like it's going to trump everything else feature wise anyway.

Check www.razerblueprints.net and http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/772/772101p1.html for more information.

It's Microsoft... Meaning that there's probably a similarly (if not identically) engineered product out there retailing for 1/3 the price? And it (the alternative product)'s probably been around longer too.

Sure, it's smart mouse, good features, almost all of them found on the DA, or even some of the previous Razer products. But it seems to borrow more than innovate from the DeathAdder's design. The DA's probably better constructed and made of better materials (any Razer owner would attest to this). and is MUCH better value for money without any compromise in quality.

Personally, I game on a Diamondback. It's a no nonsense mouse. And I can customize what I need. If you guys are still having trouble with Razer drivers, get the latest version from the website.

Strange and overly- enthusiastic man with large voice is funny though.

Cheers, Godbless.
